The Drive a Clean Machine Stationery Design Contest invited public, private and home-schooled students in grades 9-12 to design a Letterhead Design for the state’s Drive a Clean Machine program. This program seeks to bring non-attainment areas back into compliance with federal environmental guidelines by partnering with qualifying Texans who want to purchase a new car and help clean-up our air. Clean air is a major source of concern for all Texans, and mobile emissions produced by old cars are the primary source of NOx (the pollutant we must reduce to meet federal ozone standards) in our state’s non-attainment areas.
